Ravens sweep Fort Scott to advance to Region 6 Tournament in Wichita

 

The Coffeyville softball team swept two games at Fort Scott on May 2 in the first round of the Region 6 playoffs and will advance to the Region 6 Tournament to be held at the Two Rivers Youth Sports Complex in Wichita May 7-8.  

Ravens for A Cure event raises $600 for the American Cancer Society

 

The Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Relay For Life team hosted the first Ravens For A Cure event on Saturday, April 10.  Athletic teams including baseball, softball, track, volleyball and soccer joined members of the Eta Gamma Phi Theta Kappa honor society to conduct a day of activities promoting breast cancer awareness.  [more]

Coffeyville defeated Fort Scott 7-4 in the first game and won the second game 2-1 to win the series.  

Coffeyville’s season ends at Region tourney

 

Coffeyville’s 2010 season ended on May 8 at the Region 6 Tournament in Wichita.  Coffeyville started tournament play on May 7 and dropped a 13-3 decision to Johnson County.  Coffeyville then faced Neosho County in an elimination game on May 8.  Coffeyville fell 8-4 to the Panthers.  Coffeyville ends the season with a 20-27 overall record, a 15 win improvement over last season.

Softball team receives several accolades for academics in 2009-2010

 

The Red Raven softball team is smart according to the NJCAA and the Jayhawk Conference.  The entire team was listed as an Academic Team by the NJCAA.  The team compiled an overall 3.04 g.p.a. average last school year.  Taylor Medler was honored as an Academic All-American by the NJCAA.  Medler graduated with a 3.77 overall g.p.a.  Seven additional athletes were selected to KJCCC All-Academic Team.  Student-athletes selected were Amber Allen, Shandi Crossley, Jakey Dobbs, Shannon Green, Megan Hoppenstedt, Erin Macaronas, and Taylor Medler.
