Track/Cross Country Accomplishments

Below are accomplishments of the track and cross country team under Head Coach Craig Perry.

2008-2009

 

Cross Country

 

• Men’s Cross Country All Academic Team 10th in Nation, 3.403 GPA.
• Women’s Cross Country All Academic Team 4th in Nation, 3.67 GPA.
• Academic All-Americans: Seth Freeman, Tyler Perry, Rob Gault, Jordan Earle, Michelle Quinones, and Nayshona Jones.
• Jayhawk Conference All-Academic Team: Jordan Earle, Tyler Perry, Geoffrey Sygay.
• Men’s team finished 3rd in the Conference, 7th in the Region, 26th in the Nation.
• Women’s team finished 5th in the Conference, 11th in the Region, 31st in the Nation.

Indoor Track

 

• Academic All Americans: Geoffrey Sygay.
• 7 school records broken.
• 28 athletes qualified for 2009 NJCAA Indoor National Meet.

Women’s team EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS, 4th in the Region, 17th in Nation.

 

Conference Champions:

 

• Paris Daniels – 200 m dash.
• Frances Daniels- 60 m hurdles.
• Brandy Simpson – Pentathlon.
• Denise Banda – Shot Put.
• 4x400 m relay team (Demica Robinson, Deona Gardner, Jasmere Love, Paris Daniels).

Coaches Association All-Americans or Indoor National Point Scorers:

 

• Emily Seda – 5th place in Long Jump.
• Paris Daniels – 7th place in 200 m.
• Denise Banda – 8th place in Weight Throw.
• 4x400 m relay team (Demica Robinson, Paris Daniels, Deona Gardner, Jasmere Love) – 7th in Nation.

Men’s team 3rd in Conference, 5th in Region, 28th in Nation

• Rashad Cannon – Long Jump
• Marquis Burns – High Jump

Indoor National Point Scorers:

 

• 4x800 m relay team (Darnell Pittman, Prince Nwokorie, Evan Walter-Bennett, Marcus Smith - 7th in nation

Outdoor Track

 

• Academic All Americans: Septembra Teuscher.
• 9 school records broken.
• 29 athletes qualified for 2009 NJCAA Outdoor Nationals Meet.

Women’s team CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS, 2nd place in Region, 15th in the Nation.

• Brandy Simpson – Heptathlon.
• 4x400 m relay team (Demica Robinson, Deona Gardner, Jasmere Love, Paris Daniels).

• Frances Daniels – 100 m hurdles.
• Deona Gardner – 400 m dash.
• Demica Robinson – 400 m hurdles.
• Samantha Eby – Shot Put.
• 4x100 m relay team (Demica Robinson, Paris Daniels, Jordan Gardner, Frances Daniels).

• Brandy Simpson – 6th in Nation in Heptathlon.
• Victoria Schmidt – 6th in Nation in Javelin.
• Septembra Teuscher – 7th in Nation in Jav.
• 4x400 m relay team (Deona Gardner, Jasmere Love, Emily Seda, Paris Daniels) – 4th in the Nation.
• 4x100 m relay team (Jazmine Coleman, Paris Daniels, Jordan Gardner, Frances Daniels) – 6th in the Nation.

Men’s team 3rd in Conference, 7th in Region, 14th in Nation.

• Marquis Burns – Triple Jump.

• Marquis Burns – 5th place in High Jump; 7th place in Triple Jump.
• Rashad Cannon – 6th place in Long Jump.
• Ryan Johnson –  6th place in Shot Put; 7th place in Hammer Throw.
• Charles Andrews – 8th place in Hammer Throw.

2007-2008 Season

 

Cross Country

 

• All Academic Team 8th in nation with 3.450.

• Conference Champions: Dustin Schull- Pentathlon, Brandy Simpson- Pentathlon, Gabby Mask- Long Jump.

Outdoor Track
